FAQ

Frequently asked questions

General

What treatments do you offer?

We offer three types of treatments: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), Whole Body Cryotherapy, and Red Light Therapy (RLT). All of our therapies are gentle, natural, safe, and have a holistic effect.

How often should I use your treatments to improve my health and well-being?

You’ll feel an improved mood and energy boost after just one visit to Si Strefa Regeneracji. However, if you’re expecting spectacular and long-lasting effects, regular visits are key. Systematic use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, whole body cryotherapy, and photobiomodulation is the simplest path to longevity. Learn more about how often to receive hyperbaric oxygen therapy and cryotherapy sessions here. Discover how frequently to come in for red light therapy here. We’re also happy to answer any questions personally, so please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Should I eat or drink before my appointment?

One thing that the three therapies we offer have in common is the stimulation of the body’s detoxification processes. Drinking plenty of water before and after your session is highly recommended to further support the cleansing effects of the treatment. However, there are no guidelines regarding eating. From our experience, we can say that cryotherapy, which is a highly energy-demanding treatment, may be more tolerable after a meal.

What should I bring for the appointment?

You don’t have to bring anything. We will provide you with all the things necessary for the treatments.

When can I make an appointment?

We are open everyday. From Monday to Friday 8:00-20:00, Saturday 8:00-18:00 and Sunday 11:00-15:00.

What are the prices of your treatments?

You can find the prices for our individual treatments, packages, and passes in the ‘Pricing‘ section.

Where can I park my car? It is Szczecin after all.

There are parking spots available right in front of our salon, including spots for disabled clients. However, these free spots can often be occupied. In such cases, we recommend using the convenient paid parking lot on Narutowicza Street. Don’t worry about the cost of parking – simply let us know that you parked there and we will deduct the parking fee from your bill.

What is SI?

SI is a combination of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and whole body cryotherapy. It starts with a 60-minute treatment in the hyperbaric chamber followed by a 3-minute session in the cryotherapy chamber. The two treatments complement each other perfectly, as a well-oxygenated body responds even better to the extreme cold, maximizing the benefits of both sessions in a single visit. An additional benefit is the price – SI is cheaper than purchasing HBOT and cryotherapy separately.

What is NASA?

NASA is a contrast therapy that involves combining sessions of photobiomodulation and cryotherapy. By exposing your cells to red light, they become more responsive to the cold temperatures in the cryotherapy chamber. This allows you to experience the benefits of both treatments for your body and mind. The whole treatment, including preparation, takes no longer than 30 minutes and is less expensive than each treatment performed separately.

What is ZEN?

ZEN is a combination of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and red light therapy. After a 60-minute oxygenation of all tissues, body fluids, and organs in your body, we invite you to an incredibly pleasant 15-minute RLT session, during which your cells will receive a huge dose of energy from the red light. This combo will make you feel like a newborn and you’ll want to come back to us as soon as possible. Moreover, the price of the package is significantly lower than the price of each treatment done separately.

What is BIOHACKER?

It’s the best of everything in one package. It combines hyperbaric oxygen therapy, whole body cryotherapy, and photobiomodulation, which, when done in succession, complement each other and provide even more benefits for your health and well-being. You’ll spend about 1.5 hours with us, and we’ll recharge your batteries to the fullest. BIOHACKER costs less than each treatment individually. Be careful, though, it’s addictive! ?

Whole Body Cryotherapy

What is whole body cryotherapy?

It is a treatment in which the entire body is exposed to extreme cold in a modern cryochamber, where temperatures can reach as low as -195°C. You are inside the chamber for a maximum of 3 minutes, during which your body enters a state of survival mode, similar to hibernation. After exiting the chamber, your blood circulation increases up to fourfold, which speeds up metabolic processes and results in an incredible surge of energy. We recommend this treatment as a preventive measure for healthy individuals, as well as a supportive therapy for those dealing with injuries or illnesses.

Is cryotherapy safe?

Yes, Whole Body Cryotherapy is a safe treatment with no side effects. There is, however, a list of contraindications. Because it is an extreme kind of therapy, we recommend doing it under a qualified crew’s control. The crew will make sure the session goes as planned and create an individual plan, based on your needs.

What is the duration of a cryotherapy session?

The duration of the treatment is tailored to each client’s individual needs and lasts between 120 and 180 seconds.

How does the cryotherapy treatment make you feel?

During the intense cooling of the body, the blood vessels constrict and the blood circulation slows down significantly. You may feel a slight tingling sensation and numbness, as well as the intense cold penetrating your body. However, this discomfort is only temporary as the treatment lasts for only 3 minutes. Additionally, the release of hormones during the session, such as cortisol, testosterone, adrenaline, and endorphins, can induce a somewhat euphoric state and help to minimize the unpleasant sensations.

Does cryotherapy hurt?

No, it doesn’t hurt at all. The uncomfortable feeling of numbness lasts for only a moment. After leaving the cold chamber, you will get warm super quickly due to blood circulation going faster. Thanks to that, you and your muscles will feel nice and relaxed.

What if I’m claustrophobic?

It doesn’t matter. At Si Strefa Regeneracji we offer you a modern CryoSpace Hybrid chamber, in which your head is outside. Claustrophobia is not a contraindication.

How should I prepare for the cryotherapy treatment? What should I bring with me?

On the day of the treatment, avoid alcohol and other substances. Do not apply creams, ointments, or balms before the treatment. Remove all jewellery and watches. The best clothing to wear is swimwear or underwear. Women may enter the cryochamber naked (men may not due to the risk of frostbite). That’s all you need to know. Our staff will take care of everything else.

Can cryotherapy help in the fight against cellulite?

Yes, whole body cryotherapy can help in the fight against cellulite due to the extreme cold’s effect on the circulatory system. Cryotherapy speeds up blood and lymph flow, improves metabolism and tissue oxygenation, and also improves their firmness and elasticity. The treatment can be used independently or in combination with other therapies.

Is cryotherapy the same as an ice bath/winter swimming?

Both use cold as a therapy tool. The health benefits and quite similar then. However, the whole body cryotherapy has a few more advantages. First of all, you can use this therapy all year, not only when it’s cold outside. The second, important difference is safety. While winter swimming is quite a risky activity that could end with a thermal shock, whole body cryotherapy is 100% safe. You can read more about the differences between winter swimming and the whole body cryotherapy here.

What if I’m often cold and get ill easily?

Whole Body Cryotherapy dilates blood vessels and helps with blood circulation. Thanks to that it has a good impact on people who are always cold. Faster going blood helps to keep the feet and hands warm. One of the benefits of cryotherapy is that it strengthens the immune system. That is why regular session may help with staying away from sickness.

Is it possible to catch a cold after cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy stimulates your immune system, which allows for avoiding colds and mitigating their symptoms. However, it is important to be healthy during the treatment. In case of infection, we recommend waiting until it has passed.

Do I have to take a shower before or after the treatment?

Taking a shower is not necessary before, nor after the session. Your skin does not get wet. Many clients come for a session on their lunch breaks, as the treatment is only 3 minutes long.

Is it best if I do the treatment before or after a workout?

There is no easy answer to that question, as cryotherapy is great for your body either way. Having the treatment done before a workout makes your blood circulation go faster and helps with the mobility of joint. That is why we invite runners, cyclists and endurance athletes before their workouts. A session after a training helps with regenerating tissues, which is why we invite you after an intensive day at the gym!

How often should I have a cryotherapy treatment?

It depends ? After the first treatment you are going to feel less pain and wake your immune system up. However, for the whole body cryotherapy to really work, you need to plan out 10-20 visits in a month. It is a bit different if you are having problems with a specific sickness. In that case, we will make the number and timing of sessions suit your needs. You can read more about it here.

Can I do this treatment while I am on my menstrual cycle?

Yes, cryotherapy is totally safe while on your menstrual cycle.

Does cryotherapy ruin makeup or hair?

No. At Si Strefa Regeneracji we use a modern CryoSpace Hybrid chamber, in which your head is out. Your hair and makeup are safe.

What conditions does red cryotherapy help with?

One of the primary advantages of cryotherapy used in medicine is its anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects. Whole body cryotherapy, in particular, is recommended for people suffering from the following conditions:

  • Rheumatic diseases of soft tissues (fibromyalgia, polymyositis, and dermatomyositis) and connective tissues
  • Inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system: rheumatoid arthritis (RA), ankylosing spondylitis (AS)
  • Metabolic joint inflammation – gout
  • Degenerative diseases and secondary degenerative changes that distort joints or spine and discopathy
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Overload syndromes and post-traumatic injuries to the musculoskeletal system (bruises, sprains, dislocations, fractures, muscles)
  • Paralyzes and spastic contractions of limbs due to neurological and orthopedic disorders
  • Osteoporosis
  • Alleviation and/or elimination of menopausal symptoms
  • Mental fatigue (stress)
  • Depressive and neurotic disorders

You can read more about the strong anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects of cryotherapy here.

What are the contraindications for cryotherapy?

Fortunately, there aren’t many of them. The most important contraindications for using a cryo chamber are:

  • Cancer
  • Previous heart attack and other heart diseases
  • Cold sensitivity and frostbite
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Circulatory failure
  • Skin damage and purulent changes
  • Anemia
  • Kidney and bladder diseases
  • Pregnancy
  • Excessive sweating

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy?

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a therapeutic method that involves administering oxygen to the patient at a concentration of 93% (compared to 21% in the air) at an increased pressure in the chamber (1.3 ATA). These conditions cause the inhaled oxygen to be distributed throughout all tissues, organs, and body fluids, including so-called ischemic foci. This stimulates the body to activate and maximize all natural processes. A 60-minute session in a hyperbaric chamber carries many benefits for your health and well-being.

How long does a treatment in the hyperbaric chamber last?

A single treatment lasts for 60 minutes, plus the time needed for compression and decompression. The total time spent in the chamber is approximately 60-70 minutes.

Is hyperbaric oxygen therapy safe?

Yes, as long as it is conducted under strict supervision of a specialist, who will rule out any potential health contraindications and ensure the session proceeds smoothly. At Si Strefa Regeneracji, our qualified personnel prioritize your safety throughout the entire treatment.

How should I prepare for the treatment? What should I take with me?

At least 12 hours before the treatment, do not consume alcohol, and at least 2 hours before, do not smoke or consume carbonated beverages. Try not to use any lotions, oily creams, hair styling products, or perfumes before the session. Just before entering the chamber, use the bathroom and drink a small amount of water. Wear comfortable clothing, preferably made of cotton. That’s all you need to know. We will tell you the rest on-site.

How will I feel during the treatment?

During the first few minutes of the treatment, you may experience sensations similar to those at the beginning of a flight, such as clogged ears and headaches. However, once the pressure reaches the optimal level, these discomforts should disappear. The remainder of the session can be spent calmly breathing and relaxing. Towards the end of the session, you may again experience ear discomfort due to decompression. After the treatment, it’s possible to feel either sleepy or energized. The reaction depends on your body’s individual response.

What are the benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy?

Strong hyperbaric oxygenation stimulates and accelerates all metabolic and regenerative processes in the body. This eliminates inflammation, speeds up wound healing, reduces pain (even migraines), facilitates weight loss, and improves skin condition. For athletes, it facilitates recovery after exercise and increases endurance during endurance training. It improves mood and concentration, stimulates the immune system, and facilitates the removal of toxins. It even accelerates the production of stem cells responsible for the body’s condition up to 8 times. These are just the most important benefits of regular use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. You can read more on our blog.

How often should I use hyperbaric oxygen therapy?
You will feel better even after one session. However, if you are looking for lasting results, we recommend regular use of the hyperbaric chamber. The number and frequency of treatments depend on the problem you are dealing with and the effect you want to achieve. For preventive health purposes or to improve sports performance, we recommend 5-10 treatments at maximum intervals of 2 days. If you are looking for support for the treatment of a specific condition, please visit our blog or contact us – we will help you tailor the appropriate session plan for you.
Is the treatment safe for children?

Yes, it is. It also is a big support if a child suffers from AZS, ADHD or autism.

What if I am claustrophobic?

The chamber may seem quite small, but during the session, its walls inflate, resulting in a significant increase in space. In addition, it is equipped with windows through which you can observe everything that happens outside. The inside of the chamber is white and illuminated, so you don’t have to worry about the darkness. You have a special intercom at your disposal, which allows you to call the staff at any time. And if that’s still not convincing, you can always bring a companion with you to provide comfort ?

What conditions does hyperbaric oxygen therapy help with?

The effects of hyperbaric therapy are not limited to a single area, the therapy works holistically and supports the treatment of many diseases. The use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy is recommended as an adjunctive treatment for conditions such as:

  • Skin wounds and diseases such as atopic dermatitis (eczema), psoriasis, acne (including rosacea), fungal infections, ulcers, skin rashes, hives, wounds (including post-operative wounds), skin infections, necrosis, bedsores, skin allergies. Red Light Therapy (RLT)

What is red light therapy?

Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, is a therapeutic technique that involves exposing the whole body or a specific area to visible red light beams with a wavelength of 620-700 nm and near-infrared light, which is invisible to the eye and has a wavelength ranging from 700 to 1000 nm. Both types of light have the ability to penetrate the skin up to a depth of 15 cm, directly reaching the cellular mitochondria and providing them with a powerful dose of energy. This energy is used to activate and accelerate many repair processes in the body.

Is red light therapy safe?

Yes, it is safe. Research does not show any side effects. However, in order for it to be effective and conducted properly, it is worth entrusting it to a specialist. At Si Strefa Regeneracji, our qualified staff will ensure your safety at every stage of the treatment.

What is the duration of a red light therapy treatment?

The session lasts for 15 minutes.

What feeling accompanies red light therapy?

During the 15-minute session, you don’t feel anything particular. The treatment is absolutely painless and does not emit noticeable heat. Only after it, you will feel filled with incredible energy!

How should I prepare for a red light therapy treatment? What should I bring with me?

Photobiomodulation does not require any special preparation. Before the treatment, do not use oily creams, balms, or ointments. Avoid wearing makeup and jewelry. During the session, you can remain naked (especially recommended for men, as RLT stimulates testosterone secretion) or in underwear.

What are the benefits of red light therapy?

Photobiomodulation is a real energy bomb for human cells. It affects the reduction of inflammation, accelerates wound healing and tissue regeneration. It has an analgesic effect and improves physical performance. It has a very positive effect on improving mood and even has an antidepressant effect. It stimulates the brain to work intensively, which improves concentration and cognitive abilities. It has a positive effect on the quality of sleep, skin, and hair. These are just a handful of positive effects of red light therapy on the human body. You can read more about it here.

How many treatments are needed to notice and feel a difference?

The number of treatments after which you will notice a difference depends primarily on the condition or goal for which you are seeking therapy. One treatment will stimulate the immune system, reduce swelling or inflammation. However, spectacular effects will take a bit longer. Usually, it takes several to a dozen or so treatments, performed day by day. Therefore, it is best if you contact us and together we will establish a therapy plan tailored to your needs.
